Ingredients, in tradition
All 6 ingredients in Pavansudha, and how Ayurveda and other traditions have long regarded each one. Every note links to its source.

रूइबॉस · South African herb
Rooibos is a South African herbal infusion, not part of classical Ayurveda. It is naturally free of caffeine, low in tannins, and contains polyphenols such as aspalathin, which gives the cup its smooth, earthy sweetness.
Research note. Human studies on rooibos are limited, and most of the research comes from laboratory and animal work.

पुदीना · Spearmint
Spearmint is a sweet, gentle mint. Reviews of traditional medicine record its use for digestive complaints such as bloating and indigestion, and for colds and cough.
Research note. The authors of the main review call for more human studies. Here, spearmint brings softness and freshness.

सोंठ के टुकड़े · Ardraka
Small pieces of ginger give the cup a lively, warming zing. In Ayurveda ginger, fresh (ardraka) or dried (shunthi), is honoured as Mahaushadhi, "the great medicine", and has traditionally been used to support digestion.
Research note. Reviewers note that how ginger acts is not yet fully understood, so this is traditional context.

नींबू का छिलका · Nimbu
Lemon peel carries a bright citrus aroma, thanks to oils rich in limonene. A review of Citrus limon describes the fruit's long traditional history, including against scurvy and, for the oil, against coughs.
Research note. Claims for lemon oil and digestion come mostly from non-scientific sources, so we do not make them.

काली मिर्च · Maricha
Maricha is one of the three pungent spices of Trikatu, the classical Ayurvedic trio of black pepper, long pepper and ginger. In the classics it is traditionally associated with kindling digestive fire (agni).
Research note. Most published work on black pepper and its compound piperine is preclinical.

पुदीना · Pudina
Pudina, mint, is the cooling, fragrant herb of Indian chutneys and chaats. Reviews note that Mentha species are used in folk medicine for bronchitis, nausea, flatulence and loss of appetite.
Research note. Evidence is mostly traditional or laboratory-based. In the cup, mint brings freshness.

The notes above describe how individual ingredients are traditionally used in Ayurveda and other traditional systems, and what published reviews report about them. They are shared for general interest and cultural context only. Ayvira does not claim that its teas provide these or any other health or medical benefit. Research on many of these ingredients is limited or preclinical, and the linked sources are third-party publications that Ayvira does not control. The art of a little pause
A simple guide to your first cup of Pavansudha. Adjust to the way you love it.
Pour a cup of freshly boiled water over 1 teaspoon of Pavansudha.
Cover and steep for 3–5 minutes, adjusting to your taste.
Enjoy as it is, or finish with a slice of lemon.
Brew a stronger cup, cool it, then pour over ice with fresh mint.
Four ways to pour
Pavansudha is happy in every cup. Choose the way your day feels, then adjust the strength and sweetness to your taste.
Steep 1 teaspoon in ⅔ cup of just-boiled water for 4–5 minutes. Strain and stir in ⅓ cup of warm milk. Rooibos is naturally smooth, so it blends gently with milk. Sweeten to taste.
Pour 1 cup of freshly boiled water over 1 teaspoon of Pavansudha. Cover and steep for 3–5 minutes. Strain and sip, with a slice of lemon if you like.
Steep 1½ teaspoons in ¾ cup of just-boiled water for 5 minutes. Strain and cool. Pour over ice and add ¼ cup of cold milk. Sweeten to taste.
Brew a stronger cup: 1½ teaspoons in 1 cup of just-boiled water for 5 minutes. Strain, cool, then pour over ice with fresh mint and lemon.
Pavansudha is naturally caffeine-free, so it suits any hour.
